We pick these houses by hand, for their photographs. There is no amenity, rate or bedroom count behind the list, and, with Modern, Caribbean classic and Nobody in sight, it is chosen by eye rather than by a fact on the listing; it is the only one chosen for the photographs alone.
A house earns its place here with a picture: a pool at the edge of a deck, a bedroom that opens to the bay, a table outside with the next island behind it. That is a real reason to choose a house, and it is not the only one. What a list made from pictures misses is everything a picture leaves out. The road up the hill. The steps up from the parking. The neighbor's roof just past the edge of the frame. How far the beach really is.
So use the list for what it is good at, the house you would not have thought to search for, and then read the rest of the villa page. The map and the drive times sit below the gallery, the rooms are drawn bed by bed, and the owner can answer anything the camera did not. A photograph starts the conversation; the owner's reply is where you learn whether the week matches the picture, and what you would see if the camera turned around.

What to check once a photo has caught you
Read the villa page from the top. The fact block gives bedrooms, baths and how many it sleeps; the Rooms section shows every bed, so you can see whether the room in the photo is the main bedroom or the only one with the view. The map under Where you'll be staying shows the approximate pin and the drive to town and the nearest beaches.
Then write to the owner with the questions a photograph cannot answer: how many steps from the car to the door, which rooms have air conditioning, and when the photos were taken. A garden after the autumn rains and the same garden in a dry spring are not the same picture.

Do the photos match the house?
Each villa page sets beside its photos the rooms bed by bed, the amenities listed for the house and its place on the map, so you can check one against the other. Ask the owner when the photos were taken and what sits just outside the frame, before you settle on dates.
