Start with the island

Most flights land on St. Thomas, and St. John is a short ferry from Red Hook. The British Virgin Islands are another country: daily ferries leave Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook for Tortola, a boat runs from Cruz Bay to Jost Van Dyke three days a week, and everyone aboard needs a passport.
