Hospitals in the U.S. Virgin Islands
Medicare's hospital register lists two acute-care hospitals in the territory, both with emergency services as of its July 2026 update: Roy Lester Schneider Hospital at 9048 Sugar Estate on St. Thomas, and Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center on St. Croix. St. John has none in that register. The Department of Health's ambulances, VIEMS, cover all three islands and the cays, by road and by boat.
The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, VITEMA, runs 911 for the territory, and as of October 2026 its advice is to call if you can and text 911 when you cannot call or a call might put you in danger.
East End Medical Center on St. Thomas
St. Thomas East End Medical Center Corporation is the island's federally funded community health center, the one St. Thomas site in the register of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Despite the name, the register places it at Tutu Park Mall, Suite 207, open 40 hours a week year-round as of October 2026, on (340) 775-3700. It is primary care; what cannot wait belongs at the Schneider emergency department.
How to choose a pharmacy, a chef or a photographer
Walgreens at Annas Retreat is the pharmacy we could confirm with published hours: the counter opens 9am to 7pm on weekdays, 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, and closes from 1:30 to 2pm every day for a meal break, per its store page in October 2026.
The villa services publish less. Love City Lunch Box quotes an in-villa chef only after a consultation, so the cost of a dinner is unknown until you ask. Crown Images prints a floor as of October 2026: portraits from $600, weddings from $700. The Ritz-Carlton Spa at Great Bay books treatments 10am to 5pm as of October 2026; its page does not say whether it takes guests from outside the hotel, so call to ask.
