St. John wedding venues and planners

St. John wedding venues publish site fees from $2,500 at The Hills to $25,000 at Gallows Point, each tied to villa or room nights booked, as of October 2026; a planner's beach ceremony starts at $695. Book the venue or planner directly. A beach inside the national park needs a park permit, and every couple needs a license from the Superior Court.

How to choose a St. John wedding venue

The St. John venues that print a price all sell the site and the rooms together. Gallows Point Resort in Cruz Bay takes up to 150 on its Harbor Lawn; The Hills, above Cruz Bay, takes 120 on its terrace, and its fee moves with the month, from $2,500 for a ceremony in May or August to December to $9,500 for a February ceremony and reception, as published, read October 2026.

For a smaller day, a planner brings the officiant and the beach: Island Mike Weddings from $695 at Hawksnest, Trunk Bay or Peace Hill, Island Bliss Weddings from $1,595 at Oppenheimer Beach, as of October 2026.

What the site fee leaves out

The tradeoff: the number on the venue's page is not the wedding's cost. Gallows Point charges a further fee when the room nights are not met and leaves gratuities out; The Hills requires a licensed Virgin Islands planner on site from start to finish, and its ceremony-only option allows no outside vendors. Lovango Resort prints only its elopement packages, $2,500 or $8,500 for the couple plus a three-night stay, on a sheet it uploaded in 2023, and quotes weddings on request. It is reached only by its own ferry, about 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, and the boat runs only in the resort's season, which usually opens in mid-December; check the ferry schedule before you set a date.

A rental villa is the owner's call: whether the house takes a ceremony is in the house rules on its villa page, and your first note to the owner should give the head count.

Weddings in Virgin Islands National Park

On a park beach, the National Park Service treats a wedding as a special park use that needs a permit. Per its permits page updated June 30, 2026, the application carries a $50 non-refundable fee, takes 10 business days, longer for a large project, and the park may bill other costs on top.

The marriage license from the Superior Court

The Family Division of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands issues the license for the St. Thomas and St. John district. As of October 2026 it charges a $100 non-refundable application fee and $100 when the license is collected, posts every application for eight days first, and asks for government ID and, after a divorce or a spouse's death, a certified decree or certificate. No blood test. A weekend or holiday pick-up adds $150 a couple by arrangement, and a judge's ceremony, $400, is held on St. Thomas on weekdays at 8:30 am.
