Cane Garden Bay restaurants and the rest of Tortola
On Tortola the beach dinner is in Cane Garden Bay, whose restaurants sit on the north-shore sand, reason enough to stay there. The rest of the island eats in Road Town's dinner rooms, around the harbor at West End and beside the airport at Trellis Bay, and every one of those tables is a drive home, not a boat ride.

Cane Garden Bay restaurants, on the beach
Two kitchens share the sand, a few minutes apart along the bay. Rhythm + Sands is the new name on the old Quito's Gazebo, opened by its new owners in November 2024: a Caribbean grill of seafood and pasta that serves all day, with lobster at market price and a 15% service charge already on every bill. Myett's has cooked on the same beach since 1992 by its own account, an open-air grill of lobster, fish and steak with a garden of suites behind it, and it recommends a booking.
The bay suits a party that wants dinner within a walk of the house. Road Town is over the ridge, so a Cane Garden Bay villa eats here most nights and drives to town for a change.
Where to eat in Road Town, West End, Trellis Bay
In Road Town for dinner, at the West End harbor for a pub plate, at Trellis Bay for the full moon. Road Town keeps the island's dinner rooms. ONDE, an Italian kitchen in the Customs House at Pier Park, serves lunch and dinner six days a week and seats walk-ins when it has room; The Dove, a chandelier-lit room in a West Indian cottage on Main Street across from the ferry dock, calls reservations essential. Bamboushay and Pusser's Pub sit on Waterfront Drive, a short walk from the ferry terminal, for a plate between boats.
West End is Pusser's Landing on the harbor at Soper's Hole and the 1748 Restaurant at Long Bay Beach Resort, set in an 18th-century distillery. Trellis Bay, beside the airport, is the market bar and grill that hosts the full moon party with a Caribbean buffet on the night, and the nearest supper to a late flight in.
The tradeoff: the ridge road after dark
Tortola is the one BVI island where dinner never depends on a boat, and the price is the road. The ridge road between the two coasts is steep, traffic keeps left, and from a West End villa a dinner in Road Town is 33 minutes each way by our measurement, over the ridge at night. Plan the late dinners near the house and keep the cross-island table for lunch.
The weeks are short in places, as of October 2026: ONDE closes on Sundays, The Dove on Sundays and Mondays. BVI Restaurant Week, usually in late October, puts prix fixe dinners on many of these tables; the Tourist Board lists the year's dates and kitchens.
