How to choose a Coral Bay restaurant

Choose by the hour, because the list divides by it. Mornings belong to the coffee counters: Love City Cafe bakes pastries and serves breakfast and lunch, and Dazey's Bayhouse sells coffee, bread and pastries, with weekend dinners its owners call Chef Nights through the 2026 season. Lunch and early dinner are the two bar-grills, Skinny Legs from 11am and Surf Club Cantina from 11:30am, both closing at 8pm. Miss Lucy's Beachfront Restaurant & Bar sits on the water at Friis Bay, south of the harbor on Route 107; its site calls the business seasonal, asks you to call for a reservation, and lists lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and dinner on Thursday, though the Saint John Island Guide's 2026 list says it served food only at its Thursday open mic night this year. Lime Out is a daytime trip rather than a meal: tacos and cocktails served on a bar that floats in the bay, reached only by boat.

One practical line for a villa week: Love City Cafe also takes provisioning orders, placed at least a week before you arrive, and beach picnic baskets ordered a day ahead, by its own site.

The tradeoff: early closing and the drive

Getting to Lime Out in Coral Bay

Lime Out has no road. On St. John its Salt + Lime Express leaves from the boat ramp next to the Coral Bay dinghy dock, $30 a person round trip, as of October 2026; a private charter is $900 to $2,500 a boat, per Lime Out. Seats at the bar and on its floating pads are first come, first served, with no waitlist, so book the shuttle and not the table.
