How to choose where to eat in Cruz Bay

Start with the cluster, then the hour. Wharfside Village is the beach side of town: La Tapa Plage, High Tide and The Beach Bar. Downtown, behind the dock, holds the Italian, the tacos, the steakhouse and the tasting menu. Mongoose Junction, which Sun Dog Cafe puts a five-minute stroll from the ferry dock, gathers sushi, a deli, a gallery bar and the St. John Brewers tap room. Ocean 362 sits apart on Gallows Point Road.

The hours sort the rest, as of October 2026. Breakfast is Cruz Bay Landing or North Shore Deli from 7am, High Tide from 8am. Dinner after nine thins out: most kitchens publish a 9pm or 9:30pm close, Morgan's Mango serves to 10pm, and Woody's Seafood Saloon, the late bar, serves to midnight every night by its listing.

Which Cruz Bay restaurants take reservations

Seven take a booking, each its own way, as of October 2026. La Tapa takes reservations by phone. Ocean 362 books online, last reservation 8:30pm. Morgan's Mango has a request form on its site. Extra Virgin Bistro books through Resy or by phone, 30 days ahead, with a 20% gratuity on every reservation. 18°64° books through Resy up to 30 days out and asks parties of seven or more to call. The Lime Inn and Banana Deck take OpenTable bookings, and Banana Deck seats walk-ins too.

The beach and the courtyard work the other way. High Tide, The Beach Bar and The Longboard take no reservations, Cafe Roma and the St. John Brewers tap room seat first come, first served, and Sun Dog Cafe books only parties of ten or more. A table for six at seven in season is a call to make before the day.

The tradeoff: short weeks and a seasonal break

As of October 2026, Ocean 362 is dark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, The Lime Inn on Saturdays, 18°64° on Sundays. In the low season the gaps widen: Extra Virgin Bistro has been on its seasonal break since August 15, 2026, and plans to reopen around late October, and 18°64° has its lunch and raw bar closed for the off-season as of October 2026. La Tapa Plage closed for the season after August 30, and its posts since then name a Halloween dinner as the likely return. Banana Deck has been shut since mid-August; a local closures list of August 14 expects it back around the start of November, and the restaurant itself has posted nothing. From September into early November, call or check the restaurant's own page the week before you go.
